The Social Work Research Center (SWRC), Faculty of Social Work, organized a two day workshop entitled "Participation in Strategic Planning". It is worth mentioning that this is the maiden activity executed by the SWRC after inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Fayoum Directorate of Social Solidarity.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Huda Tawfik, Dean of Faculty of Social Work and Prof. Arafat Zidan, SWRC Director in the presence of Mrs. Sabah Khalifa, training consultant for civil society organizations and the Director of the Center for Cultural Affairs in Cairo as well as trainees. By the way, Mrs. Sabah Khalifa gave a lecture in the workshop.
During the opening ceremony, Prof. Huda Tawfik said that the primary goal of the workshop was to facilitate the participation in strategic planning process to increase the knowledge, skills and attitudes of participants and exchange experiences and knowledge among them.
Prof. Arafat Zidan was quoted as saying: "Planning is a feature of civilized societies through which manpower can be exploited and employed properly to accomplish the tasks in the due time; this will contribute to reducing the risks and avoid future problems and this is what the workshop is aiming at."
